Chelmsford Youth Choir

looks to provide young singers in and around Chelmsford the opportunity to join together in music making that is enjoyable and of the highest quality.

Our music team of Simon Warne and Simon Harvey offers some of the best choral training available to young voices. All our training is executed within a relaxed, fun but hardworking rehearsal atmosphere. Our singers find confidence in their own musical development as well as excitement through new musical experiences.

A young singer can begin with Chelmsford Youth Choir at the age of eight, singing through to thirteen. We believe in giving our singers the opportunity to perform in first class venues, working with and alongside other talented musicians both young and professional. Our musical repertoire is carefully chosen to interest, but also complement and develop young voices.

In the Chelmsford Youth Voices our older singers have the opportunity to continue their singing throughout the teenage years, nurturing changing voices and experiencing more and more the enjoyment and satisfaction of singing in harmony together.

With regular social events and the chance for members to chat to each other through our website forum, CYC encourages the social aspect of joining together as a choir, and we are all very aware of the difference that this can make to our music making.

Now with the support of the Choir Schools Association and as part of the governments Sing Up campaign, the choir has been given the opportunity to continue its work in a wider outreach programme based at Chelmsford Cathedral. With this support we look forward to bringing more and more children and young people to join together singing
